Car Seat Clinic held at the station in cooperation with the Haliburton, Kawartha Pine Ridge & District Health Unit. This clinic was held Saturday January 15, 2005.
Participated in an alcohol awareness event held at Sir Sandford Fleming College January 27, 2005 in conjunction with MADD.
Provided a Police as a career display at St. Thomas Aquinas School for grade 7 and 8 students on March 2, 2005
Participated in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters - Bowling for Kids.

Along with the Lions Club, and the Ministry of Corrections (Jail Staff) hosted a Child ID Clinic - at the Lindsay Square Mall on Saturday March 26, 2005.
In conjunction with the Kawartha Lakes Drug Awareness Group, hosted a poster contest to bring awareness to drug issues faced by students. Done in April 2005.
For the first time the City Of Kawartha Lakes Police Service participated in the Cops for Cancer fundraising efforts during the month of April. An incredible amount of money was raised, in excess of $31,000.00 for kids with cancer. This was by far the biggest and most successful fundraising event hosted by the service.
Participated in a round table discussion on Teens in our community hosted by the Children's Aid Society, on April 14, 2005.
Provided educational awareness on drugs issues to parents, teachers and students at LCVI, Pope John Paul and Laidlaw Transport drivers throughout the year.
Police Week was held from May 15 thru to May 21. During this time there was a display at the Lindsay Square Mall daily. A display of counterfeit money, drugs and personal safety was the focus. Also on display was information about drinking and driving which included the use of the Fatal Vision Goggles. The canine unit also provided daily demonstrations.
Participated in the McDonald's Day on May 18, 2005. Officers service up Big Macs and fries to the public with the funds being donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes.
Assisted the Optimist Club of Lindsay in hosting the annual Bike Rodeo held at Pope John II School, May 2005. For the first time, the Health Unit participated by providing information about bike helmets and the proper use of them. There were plenty of free items handed out which included 6 bikes.
Participated in Tim Horton's Camp Day June 8, 2005 which saw a number of officers serve coffee to the public all in support of kids.
June 13 was the Law Enforcement Torch Run. This is an annual event which involves officers from across the Province running from one police service to another to raise awareness and funds for the Ontario Special Olympics. This year Constable Brydon also ran 7k up the Niagara Escarpment with other officers from the Province ending at Brock University where the Provincial Special Olympic Games were held.
Participated in Dairy Queen Blizzard Day - making/serving Blizzards to raise money for Sick Kids hospital on August 10, 2005.
Supported and attended in the annual, "Take Back the Night" walk with Women's Resource. This is a walk focusing on awareness and education on domestic violence. The event was held September 15, 2005.
September 17, 2005 was dedicated to supporting Easter Seal's with the participation of officers in the ball hockey tournament. We will try once again in 2006 to improve in our standing.
September involved participation in the Lindsay Fair starting with a float in the parade and a booth at the fairground, which focused on the Kawartha Haliburton Crime Stopper program.
Constable Brydon participated by providing a booth at the Older Adult Health and Safety event put on by the Kawartha Lakes Fall Prevention group on October 3, 2005.
Provided education to the public during Crime Prevention Week, November 7-11, 2005.
Participated in the Remembrance Day Parade on November 11, 2005.
The Red Ribbon Launch hosted by MADD was done in November 2005 with the support and involvement of police.
During Drug Awareness Week the police participated in a drug awareness poster in conjunction with the Kawartha Lakes Drug Awareness Group during the month of November 2005.
December saw the police in the Santa Claus parade. At this time over 100 stuffed animals were handed out along the route.
Also in December 2005, a joint display between police and the fire involved 2 smashed and burnt cars on the front lawn of the City Of Kawartha Lakes Police Service. Also on display was the Crime Stoppers jail. The message was simple, "Don't Drink and Drive".
